When Esporão project was created in 1973, the Alentejo region was still a relatively unknown region to associate with wine.

Today the wines of Esporão are among the best of Portugal.

It is in the heart of Reguengos Monsaraz, Alentejo wines that are more balanced and seductive simultaneously vigorous and pleasant, luxuriant and a good ability to store.

If the vines are the lungs of Esporão, the cellar is the heart that beats to the rhythm of the harvest and the sequence of the work defined by the calendar and the winemaking team.

The large tunnel barrels by itself are one of the attractions of Esporão, to resemble in structure to a underground tunnel with his fifteen meters wide, is firmly buried twelve feet deep which enable maintain the best naturally conditions of temperature and moisture, without the need for temperature artificially controlled and without energy and environmental costs.

Part of the Global Wine Route, the Esporão has received thousands of visitors since 1997, all visits can be complemented with a wide offer that extends for gastronomy, wine and olive oil tasting.

Visitors can also visit and learn historical and cultural heritage of Esporão, dating from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Besides Portuguese, visits can be guided in English and Spanish, always with a duration of 1 hour.
