These jewels originated in France in the 17th century and appeared in Portugal during the reign of D. Maria I, beginning to be used by the wealthy nobility and bourgeoisie, being richly worked and inlaid with pearls and precious stones.

The Filigree Museum presents an original and exclusive Colletion. The Hearts of Lisbon, Oporto and Braga pay tribute to the ancient art of Filigree through the shape of the tradtitional heart decorated with elements from each city.
