The belvedere of Torel has a pleasant garden, is very hidden, small, romantic and with a fantastic view. If you just want the company of a book, this is the perfect site.
Down the stairs, at the bottom has a nice bar/terrace.
The belvedere can be reached via the Lavra funicular, next to the Portas de Sto.Antão, on foot and in downtown, use the lift in the Lavra Anunciada Square.

The oldest elevator of Lisbon was inaugurated on 19 April 1884 and on that day it worked for 16 consecutive hours, carrying more than 3 thousand passengers for free. In 2002 it was classified as National Monument.
