SANTA LÚZIA VIEWPOINT

 

The Belvedere of Santa Luzia is located on the slope of the Castle hill, overlooking the River Tagus. It is justly considered to provide one of the finest views over the river.

The belvedere incorporates a small garden space and is decorated with two azulejo panels that depict the conquest of Lisbon, offering a picturesque view of S. Vicente and the Alfama neighborhood, stretching out to the River Tagus.

(Unfortunately at this time the Belvedere in the garden Júlio de Castilho is in a degraded state and in the process of recovery, we recommend the terrace viewpoint which it's rite beside)
