ITINERARY:

10 hour tour, pick up at 9am. wherever you are in Lisbon / Sintra / Cascais.

This is a journey through time and to the history of Portugal.

On the arrival in Batalha village we visit it's legendary Monastery.

This exceptional architectural complex resulted from the fulfillment of a promise made by King John I in gratitude for it's victory in the Aljubarrota battle against King Don Juan I of Castile. Had this battle never occurred, the small Portuguese kingdom would have probably been absorbed forever by its Castilian neighbor,  was one of the most decisive events of the history of Portugal. A visit to the cloisters of the convent, the Royal Pantheon and the "Unfinished Chapels" is optional.

We then arrive in Alcobaça village, (a taste of the conventual sweets it's a must do) we visit it's Monastery, the first test of Gothic architecture in Portugal, a white jewel in the landscape, with a visit to the church, there you will have the opportunity to get to know a little more about the birth of Portugal and the 1st dynasty of kings.

Then we go to the Nazaré beach and it's time for a lunch break. Nazaré is a land of fishermen and the local restaurants are based on varieties of fresh fish and seafood.

After lunch we go visit "the Site", as the locals call it (110 mts / height), stunning views. There you can also see the beach and the spot where the sea generates the biggest surfable waves in the world, which is called the "cannon of Nazareth".

Later in the afternoon we go to the "queens village" of Óbidos, it's a small, walled medieval village, maintained throughout the ages with its original appearance, the entire village is a live museum.

Time to return to Lisbon from a fantastic day trip, with arrival at 7pm.
